OUR STORY

Started by two long time friends, Omar Alsaadi and Mouhanad Kabbani, Pita Chip celebrates the rich flavors of their Middle Eastern heritage in a fast casual setting.

Omar and Mouhanad grew up as childhood friends in Damascus, Syria. They both came to the U.S. to pursue their educations and flee uprisings in the 1980s.

After many years as franchise owners, Omar and Mouhanad decided to take the leap into opening their own restaurant. They felt compelled to honor their Middle Eastern roots and tell their immigrant story by serving flavors inspired by Syrian street food. They also wanted to give a nod to Philadelphia, their home for over 25 years, by incorporating its grittiness into their restaurant design.

The result is Pita Chip, a fast casual Middle Eastern restaurant that pays homage to both Omar and Mouhanad’s upbringing and the City of Brotherly Love.

OUR COMMITMENT

Authentic, homemade recipes and fresh, made to order food have been at the core of our focus during the initial start of Pita Chip. This continues to be our driving force as we bring the rich flavors of our Middle Eastern heritage to you.
